Simple fun challenges for you and the kids to try at home or out and about.
For each activity you try with the kids, take a photo and post with #ThisGirlCanLiverpool
Here’s a simple idea for mums and kids to have fun together. Place cushions or other objects round the living room (or different items round the garden.)
To start the race, you call ‘ready-steady-go’.
On your phone, time the kids trotting round the obstacle course. At every obstacle, they have to shout ‘giddy-up horsey’ and jump over the item. And then it’s your turn.
Age
no obstacle.
Make your hearts
go tik tok.
With the kids, perfect the TikTok dance for Weekend’s ‘Blinding Lights’.
Make sure you have a sneaky practice first, so you look cool. It’s good for coordination – and for making the kids think you are a dancing queen.
“Come on everybody. Clap your hands. Oh, you’re looking good.”
The Twist was a worldwide dance craze in the 1960s when The Beatles played The Cavern. Here’s how to do it in your kitchen. Or pick any song you like and dance like no-one’s watching. Dish brush and dog optional
I dance to
my own tune.
Push it
real good.
How far can you walk in 10 minutes? Just go around the park, to the shops or even just round the garden. The aim is to walk as fast as you can without actually jogging or running.
Challenge the kids to see who’s a step ahead. Who can beat yesterday’s record? Because everyone’s a winner, you and the kids can make these fun home-made medals for yourselves.
From Allerton to Wavertree, you are unstoppable. Being a mum isn’t a walk in the park. But a ramble round one of Liverpool’s beautiful parks is a great way to keep everyone active. Don’t forget to take a family selfie and tell us where you’ve been.

You can be a tourist in your own city. Liverpool has lots of iconic places you can visit with your family. Sefton Park is a 200 acre Grade 1 listed park that looks like natural landscape. You can book a free visit to the Tate Liverpool – one of the best art galleries in the world. You can walk round Ropewalks. Or even take a day trip to Formby beach.
You’ve got the stamina to do it – you’re a mum! Make your trip into a day to remember. Keep everyone active and get a selfie in front of as many landmarks as you can.
Liverpool Football Club’s Foundation is running a programme called Open Goals Sessions.
The weekly sessions include multiple sports for the entire family, such as frisbee, cricket and tag. Open Goals run at 9 different locations around the city.
Take a picture of you taking part.
